Profile
Driving home from Panama City Beach, we made a detour, to visit the home of Elvis Presley.
As time was short, we wandered around the graveyard, for just a few minutes. But it was well worth the visit.
Interested in family names, and where they originated from, the grave stones pointed out certain things I did not know.
Elvis was in fact named after his father, and his twin brother who died at birth, was named after his grandfather, even though they used a little bit different spelling.
What is also worth noting, Elvis died two days after the 19th Anniversary of his mother’s death. Elvis was very close to his mother and had been suffering depression, for a long time, before his death. That he, maybe, chose to take particularly more barbiturates at this time, now makes more sense of what may have happened.
The graves are tendered with such loving care, and kept beautiful and tranquil, after all these years.
Which is remarkable given the amount of people who visit them on a daily basis.
