” Sedona Song “
You are, are, so Beautiful, so oh, oh, majestical,
There is no-one quite like you,
So many different ways to find, to capture a heart like mine,
I’m loving this adventure with you.
I want to stay like this forever,
Just you and me together,
Underneath your never ending sky,
This is peace, this is love, this is life.
Crawling on your rocks and stones,
Hanging on your multi tops,
This love no-one can define,
Please don’t mind every stare, swimming in your river,
I can’t get you off my mind.
This is peace, this is love, this is life.
Sedona, in the Arizona desert is both wild and peaceful, rugged and calm, bold and beautiful. It is a place all should see and stop awhile.
The red rocks, the blue sky, green valleys and the mouth of the beautiful Oak Canyon which is a breathtaking chasm make up picture after picture of spectacular scenery.
With names like:- Coffeepot, Cathedral, Bell and even Snoopy, the conformation of jagged boulders define wonders only your eye can behold. The open breeze of the whispering winds only you can hear. The peace and tranquillity only your mind can understand.
Sedona’s powerful, inspirational forces heighten the awareness and appreciation for life.
This haven of natural exquisiteness is an insight of, ” David’s Valley ” – A Look At Heaven,
And the, Most Beautiful Place On Earth.
And not far away is Lake Havasu City. Havasu is a Mohave Indian name meaning ” blue water”.
The lake bustles with big magnificent boats, pretty women in tiny bikinis, and a barrage of good looking guys.
All it needed, to make it the most fabulous place on earth, for a playground for water enthusiast’s that is, was a well-known landmark. So in 1968, Robert McCulloch, owner of Lake Havasu City, in the Arizona desert, put in a bid for London Bridge for $ 2,460.00 US and it was his. Yet, he had bought a bridge he didn’t need for a river he didn’t have.
The bridge was taken down brick by brick, over three years. Each piece was numbered and shipped to Arizona, 10,000 miles away. It was reconstructed on dry land. The only bridge known to be built without water under it. It is the world’s largest antique.
But with all his planning and skills, he did get a surprise, when he realized it came without the huge towers at each end. He had bought London Bridge not Tower Bridge as he thought. Still London Bridge is now no longer falling down. It really was – just as the song goes. Early in the 1960s it became evident the 140-year-old bridge was sinking into the River Thames. What with the weight of the 130,000 tons of stone in the bridge and the excess traffic, which continually passed over it, the footings built on “soft” ground could no longer support it. It was sinking 0ne inch every eight years.
Lake Havasu was really just a wide spot in the Colorado River until Robert McCulloch decided to build his town around it. Once the bridge was up, a mile-long “Bridgewater” channel was dredged so that the water flows under the bridge and connects the main body of Lake Havasu to Thompson Bay. Now a mecca year round for, good times, good food and great company.
London Bridge now stands proudly across Lake Havasu.
