Pigeon Forge, Smokey Mountains

Leaving Florida and driving north, back to Toronto, we decided to go via the Smokey Mountains.

We only had two days, but they were wonderful days, wandering around the action packed streets, full of every amusement you could think of.

We dined the first night at ” The Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Theater” and were treated to a night full of fun.

The dinner was great and the antics of the dancers were highly amusing. Watching the old feud play out made it easier to understand.

Once out on the main street we visited ” The Christmas Shoppe” where Christmas is celebrated all year long and the store was decorated with the most wonderful ornaments and colorful tree trimmings that you could imagine.

Native American art and traditionally dressed Red Indians not only sell their wares, but dance in front of their stores.

It had the air of Hollywood about it and on one building a huge King Kong swung off the main steeple holding Jane in his arms.

Whereas, we painted “Moose” around the streets of Toronto, in keeping with the forests and wild life that adorn the Smokey Mountains, huge gaily painted bears appear on most street corners.

Even though we were a lot higher in altitude the sun shone and a warm breeze gave the spring weather a hint;

Summer was on its way.
